Not a Ride … an Adventure!

The Second Sunday Ride is all about having an adventure by bicycle. Each month our rides explore scenic, historic, cultural, and other interesting places or events.
Most rides are within an hour's drive of Auburn, Alabama.
No rides are too long or fast. We tailor them to fit about anyone. Join us!

Our Next Adventure

The Frog Ride
Sunday, July 10

Lions, tigers, and frogs, oh my! It's an evening ride.

Shawn will lead us on 12–mile ride on quiet, paved county roads to see and listen to frogs and other wildlife.
Have lights on your bike. If you also have one on your head or helmet, that will make it easier to see the stuff you're looking for.

Date: Sunday, July 10
Time: 8:00 p.m. Meet at the starting point just outside Auburn, about a half-hour from Auburn.
Road Conditions: All paved. Some smooth, some rough. Rolling. About 12 miles of slow riding.
Bring: Lights. Water.

Directions from Auburn
Park at Pine Grove AME Zion Church #2
3217 CR-22 Tuskegee, AL 36083
Lat/Long: 32.423131, -85.559389

Take College St. south about ten miles to CR 69.
Slight left onto CR 69 for about four miles to CR 22 (Glassy Mill Rd.).
Left onto CR 22 a half-mile to the church parking on the left.

Coronavirus
Residents completely vaccinated (updated June 26):
  • USA: 67%
  • Alabama: 52%
  • Lee County: 41%

On our rides we follow the recommendations and laws for riding during these coronavirus days. Until infections go down and vaccination rates get higher:
  • Keep six feet or more between riders (always a good idea for riding).
  • If one feels the urge to sneeze, cough, expectorate or flatulate we ask that one back off until that special moment has passed.
  • Bring a mask in case you will be unsocially close to others outside or inside buildings or cars.
  • Dining in groups is safer outdoors.
All good things to do in cycling adventures.

Here's an article from Adventure Cycling about cycling during these times. They interview a cyclist who is a Pretired Chief Medical Officer of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
