Silver Comet Trail (Hiram towards Rockmart)

It’s that time of year when town fills up with fans, bands playing, war eagles flying … It’s time to Get Out Of Dodge for a G.O.O.D. Ride.
The Silver Comet Trail is a continuous, paved 62–mile rail-trail, 12-foot wide, mostly flat grade from Cobb County, Georgia to the Alabama stateline, west of Cedartown. It has restrooms, signs, benches and trash receptacles along the way. It features breathtaking trestles, a 700 foot-long tunnel, some of the most beautiful vistas in Georgia and passes through or very near four towns with restaurants and shops.
Two ride options:
- Hiram to Rockmart with a lunch stop in Rockmart. 45 miles roundtrip.
- McPherson Church Road Trailhead to Rockmart with a lunch stop in Rockmart. 22 miles roundtrip. Join riders coming from Hiram.
Date: Saturday, August 31, 2024.
Time: 10:00 am Central Time, 11:00 am Eastern Time at the Hiram Trailhead.
Road Conditions: All paved. Any bikes/tires will be fine.
Bring: Water. Snacks. Treasure for dining.
