St Simons Weekend
October 10–12, 2025
It's back to the Golden Isles. This time it's St. Simons Island, right next to Jekyll Island which we visited in 2012.
St. Simons is a busy town, so most bike facilities are safe, off-road multi-use paths. The southern third of the island has most of the tourist and commercial areas. The norther two-thirds are quieter.
The Hampton Spur Trail is the main north-south bike trail on the Island. About 10 miles long, it starts in the south near the Pier Village with restaurants, museums, the lighthouse, and parks. Moving north there are more parks and shops and connecting trails to Fort Frederica National Monument and other neighborhoods.
