Our Next AdventureOpelika Creekline Trail and Wood Duck Preserve
Sunday, February 9 This adventure includes an 18–mile ride and a 1.5 mile stroll, featuring the Creekline Trail of Opelika and the Opelika Wood Duck Heritage Preservation and Siddique Nature Park. The 18–mile, paved ride includes a 1-mile section of the Creekline Trail of Opelika. Creekline Trails of Opelika is a citizen-led project to connect neighbors with nature by developing multi-use creekside trails and greenways along the beautiful watershed streams of Opelika, Alabama. [Creekline Trails of Opelika] The 1.5–mile stroll through the Wood Duck Preserve is a dirt and gravel trail around the lagoon that includes two "hides" to observe wildlife. You'll want to be wearing walkable foot wear for this part. Date: Sunday, February 9 Time: Meet at Auburn's Town Creek Park at 10:00 AM. Road Conditions: The ride is all paved. The Wood Duck Preserve stroll is on dirt and gravel trails. Bring: Water. Binocular/monocular for observing. Phone apps for bird IDs. Perhaps a cable lock for bikes while we're on our stroll. Treasure for lunch afterwards if you like. Information
