The Second Sunday Ride is all about having an adventure by bicycle. Each month our rides explore scenic, historic, cultural, and other interesting places or events.
Most rides are within an hour's drive of Auburn, Alabama.
No rides are too long or fast. We tailor them to fit about anyone. Join us!

Ride with the King

SouthSide Cycling Club is now the (ever since last year) sponsor/organizer of Ride with the King. The new venue is Pine Mountain, GA with new routes, a rest stop, and more.

​There are six official routes, from 12 to 52 miles. They are focused on the area around Harris County, GA. The routes use bike trails and paths and quiet roads, including the Man O' War Trail and Callaway Gardens, two of our favorite rides.

Plastic bikes are welcome, but The King rode steel!

Date: Sunday, January 11
Time: Meet at Chipley Cycle in downtown Pine Mountain at 12:30 PM Central Time, 1:30 PM Eastern Time. Arrive early to register and sign waiver forms.
Road Conditions: All paved bike trails and quiet roads. Several distance options. Jelly donuts.
Bring: Water. Treasure for lunch/dinner afterwards  if you like. Donations will be accepted to help cover costs and support local bicycle projects.

From Auburn/Opelika to Chipley Cycle (about an hour from Auburn/Opelika:
  • Take I-85 North to Georgia Exit 2.
  • Turn right onto SR-18 towards Pine Mountain, West Point for 17 miles.
  • Left onto SR-18 for about a mile (an entrance to Callaway Gardens is on the right).
  • Left onto Main St. / US-27 for a few hundred feet.
  • ​Turn  right onto Broad Street. The bike shop is on your right. Plenty of parking in the area.
  • The nearby Visitor Center has rest rooms.
