The Thread
Sunday, February 12, 2023

A wonderful urban bicycle network is being build in LaGrange, Georgia. We will be exploring it for the very first time, led by Rick Brock, known to many of us as the owner of Golden's Bikes and a cycling advocate.

From the website:
The Thread is a network of multi-use trails and greenways designed to be a sustainable and pedestrian-friendly connector between the city’s neighborhoods, public parks, schools and commercial businesses. Weaving through LaGrange, Georgia and void of motorized vehicles, residents and visitors enjoy the outdoors while taking advantage of The Thread’s convenience and amenities.

Promoting overall health and wellness in the community, The Thread is a socially-equitable transportation system, enhancing LaGrange’s environment and economic vitality. About 13 miles of the 29-mile proposed system have been completed. Upon full completion, The Thread is projected to provide over 30 miles of interconnected greenways, side paths and pocket parks traversing the city.

Date: Sunday, February 12.
Time: 10:00 AM CST (11:00 AM EST) at Granger Park, Lagrange, GA.
Road Conditions: All paved paths and residential streets. Rolling. Any bike/tires will work. About 17 miles.
Bring: Water. Snacks. Treasure for lunch.
