West Point Dam
Sunday, August 13
A pleasant ride along the western edge of West Point Lake and over the Dam. The route is fairly flat but in August it will be warm. A one-mile stroll on the Alligator Creek Trail in Amity Park will provide shade. The start/finish is in Hardley Creek Park that provides shady picnic areas. Restaurants are available in West Point and LaGrange. Beacon Brewing Co. is a short drive across the Dam in LaGrange.
Date: Sunday, August 13.
Time: 9:00 AM Alabama time, 10:00 AM Georgia time. Meet at Hardley Creek Park.
Road Conditions: Mostly paved, any bikes/tires will do. The main route is 20-miles and includes a one-mile, unpaved forest stroll in Amity Park. There are shorter options without the stroll.
Bring: Water. Walking shoes for the walking trail. Water. Bring a picnic lunch or treasure for a restaurant.

- Take I-85 N towards Atlanta to Exit 79 toward Lanette, Valley.
- Turn Left onto US 29 N.
- After 2.2 miles, continue STRAIGHT onto Third Ave.
- After 3.1 miles, RIGHT onto Stateline Rd.
- After 0.2 miles, LEFT into Hardley Creek Park.
