Yoholo Micco Trail
Sunday, August 8
The Yoholo Micco Trail traverses grassy meadows, mixed woodlands, past a (hidden) waterfall, across a former railroad bridge skirting the shoreline of Lake Eufaula, through a residential section of the historic City of Eufaula, and Old Creek Town Park. This rail trail was named in honor of Yoholo, the Creek Chief of Old Eufaula Town. (Micco is the Muscogean [Creek] word for chief.)
This delightful trail has been developed by the community and is very popular for biking, walking, jogging, and bird watching. It connects downtown Eufaula with neighborhoods, schools, and recreation facilities. A great example of what can be done by small and large communities.
